In my humble view, rarely, if ever, has Sweden before, produced a band as strong as The Willy Clay Band on their debut-album, Rebecca Drive (hmmm, perhaps a few years ago also, the sadly underrated
band, Deeptone could have been "up there" too... with all their wonderful harmonies)

As the only band from Europe, Willy Clay Band has been selected to play at the september Americana Music Conference in Nashville, where they will compete with bands like the Domino Kings and Hacienda Brothers later this year.

I am proud, the small record company are proud, the musicians, the small town in the upmost north of our small country, the judge, the clerks at the supermarket... Everyone. We love to hear this sound!

Kiruna (their hometown), is a cold, cold place with lots of snow in the long winter, with a long interesting cultural history. It is placed in the absolute north of Sweden, where people don't "play" (if you get what i mean), but they sure know how to play their instruments there, i can tell you. I've been in Kiruna. To get there by
train from my place, it took me 22 hours by train. This is the music that will put the old miners town "back on the map" again, i believe.
